What is a Le Potage Garden?

The potage gardening system has its origan in 16th century France [otherwise known as a Kitchen Garden]. The potager garden could be found all over the French countryside.

Wealthy chateau owners as well as common farmers grew the potage gardens. The wealthier of the two would have had sprawling elaborate gardens with gardeners who would tend them. The farmer would have had a small potager of his own, much less elaborate, with only his family and himself to tend to it.

For the gardener attending the potage, it was most certainly a necessity, a matter of having food.

There should be but one rule in creating the potage garden/kitchen garden and that is; allow the imagination to rule.
